Terms of Service
Draft of 30 August 2026
AcreCast is farm record-keeping software: fields and boundaries, what was planted where, spray and fuel records, grain tickets, land agreements, budgets and equipment. These terms describe what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. Plain language is deliberate; where it is ambiguous, ask.
1. Your data is yours
You own the records you enter and the boundaries you draw or import. We do not claim ownership of them, we do not sell them, and we do not share them with input suppliers, seed companies, landlords, insurers, lenders or anyone else without your instruction. We store and process them for the sole purpose of running the service for you.
You can take them with you at any time, in bulk, without asking us: Setup → Download everything produces a zip of every record on your farm as CSV, plus your field boundaries as GeoJSON. That export is a permanent feature and is not gated behind a paid plan.
2. What we promise
- To keep your records available to read and to enter, even if your subscription lapses. If a paid period ends we may switch off features — extra seats, reports, prescriptions — but we will not lock you out of your own spray records, which have compliance consequences.
- To back up the database daily and to tell you if we ever lose data belonging to you.
- To give you at least 30 days' notice before a change that materially reduces what the service does, and before deleting the account of a customer who has stopped paying.
- To keep the export in section 1 working.
3. What we do not promise
AcreCast is a record of what you told it. It is not agronomic, legal, insurance or financial advice. Specifically:
- Insurance deadlines you enter are reminders you asked for. Verify every date with your crop insurance agent. A missed deadline is not our liability.
- Restricted-entry intervals and pre-harvest intervals are computed from what you typed. The product label is authoritative, not us.
- Acreage figures derived from boundaries are geometry, not an FSA determination. Reported acres from your FSA office are stored separately and never mixed into planning math.
- Imported machine data is reconstructed from the card your display wrote. We show you what we read and ask you to confirm it before it becomes a record.
The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
4. Your account
- You are responsible for your password and for who you invite to your farm.
- One person, one login. Do not share credentials — the record of who did what depends on it.
- You must be at least 18 and entering these terms on behalf of a farm you are authorised to bind.
- Do not upload data you have no right to upload, and do not use the service to break the law.
5. Fees
Pricing, trials and billing terms are not yet in effect and are not covered by this draft. While the service is unpriced, it is free, and we will give notice before that changes.
6. Ending it
You can delete your account from Setup → Danger zone at any time. If you are the only person on your farm, deleting your account deletes the farm and every record in it, immediately and permanently — export first. If other people are on the farm, deleting your account removes you and leaves the farm and its records with them; a farm can never be left without an owner.
We may suspend an account for non-payment or for abuse, with notice, and will keep the data available for export for at least 30 days after any suspension.
7. Changes
We will post changes to this page and, for material changes, tell you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
